Stars win 6-3 in OT to defeat Coyotes
CHICAGO — The Dallas Stars came away with a 6-4 win over the Arizona Coyotes on Wednesday night, sending the Coyotes to their seventh straight loss and ending their seven-game road trip.
Devin Shore scored two goals for the Stars, who were without their captain, Johnny Oduya, and defenseman Kyle Palmieri (upper body) for the game.
Daley Roussel and Patrick Eaves were also on the ice for the win.
“It’s a tough thing,” defenseman Jamie Oleksiak said.
“It’s not going to be easy, but we have to be patient and continue to get better.
We’re ready to go.”
Arizona’s last win at American Airlines Center came in a 4-2 overtime victory over the New York Islanders on March 3.
The Coyotes (16-13-7) have lost five straight and five of their past six.
The Stars (18-16-5) won their fifth straight at home, but were held to two shots on goal by the Coyotes.
Jakub Vrana made 26 saves for Arizona.
Jyrki Jokipakka scored a pair of goals for Arizona, which will host the Winnipeg Jets on Friday.
Dallas, which has won six straight against the Coyotes, lost three straight in the series, including three straight at Phoenix.
The teams split the season series last season, with the Stars winning 3-2 in overtime and the Coyotes losing 4-3.
